Federal Hill, the mansion home of the Rowan family during the 1800s, is the centerpiece of My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown, Kentucky. Today, this Georgian-style mansion is as enchanting to visitors as it was in 1852, when Foster wrote what has become the official state song while visiting his cousins, the Rowans. You can step into the days of the antebellum South as costumed guides escort you through the stately mansion and formal gardens, and experience for yourself the surroundings that inspired Foster's endearing and enduring ballad, “My Old Kentucky Home.”
